Attendees

Hello WPCampus attendee! The WPCampus community cannot wait to meet you in Sarasota and learn more about you, your institution, and how you use WordPress. This page will be a great place for the planning team to post and share important information just for our attendees so be sure to check back often. See you in Sarasota!

Be sure to interact with Conferencia, Lanyrd, and #WPCampus to follow along with the event.
WPCampus is a community event and we’re looking for a couple more volunteers. Please fill out the volunteer form if you’re willing to lend a hand.

Things To Do In Sarasota

We’ve asked some of our favorite Sarasota locals to share their recommended restaurants, coffee spots, and attractions and created a map to share this wealth of info with you. We want to make sure you have an amazing trip. Please let us know if you have any questions, needs, or requests about items on the map.

Conference Check-In

You will need to check-in to receive your conference ID badge. Your badge is your golden ticket of admission to all the fun! Check-in is on Friday, July 15 from 8-9 a.m.

Your ID badge must be worn at all sessions and conference events.

Parking

WPCampus attendees are allowed to park anywhere on campus unless marked as handicapped or reserved.

Attire

  • Dress at the conference is business casual – with a strong emphasis on the “casual”. Jeans and t-shirts would be just fine.
  • Session rooms may be chilly, so you may want to bring a sweater or dress in layers.

The Weather Forecast

It can get quite warm in Florida in the summer. The average high for mid-July in Sarasota is the high 80s with the low in the mid 70s. It can also get pretty wet in the summer so you might want to bring an umbrella or rain coat.

Meals

We’ll provide lunch on Friday and Saturday with coffee and snacks throughout the day. Light hor d’oeuvres will be served at the social event Friday evening.

We’ve listed some of our favorite area restaurants on the conference map if you’d like some recommendations.

The Conference Map

Check out the conference map to help you find your way around town for all of the conference events. The map also highlights area dining, attractions, and transportation.

Social Gatherings

What’s the fun of attending so many awesome sessions if you can’t hang out with the other attendees and talk about and expand on what you learned? We look forward to getting to know you so we hope you’ll be able to join us for a few social and networking events.

Thursday Night

If you’re in town and looking for something to do, come on down to Office Bar SRQ and join us for a casual gathering from 7-9 p.m.

Friday Night

After Friday’s sessions end, we hope you’ll enjoy dinner with some new friends and then join us for a social gathering at World of Beer in downtown Sarasota. We’ll be hanging around from 6-9 p.m.

Saturday Night

After the event, we’re looking forward to grabbing dinner with more friends we just met IRL and then heading down to Growler’s Pub to sing our favorite Bon Jovi songs. Hope you can join us for some fun-filled karaoke before the curtain falls on a great weekend.

We’ve listed some of our favorite area restaurants and attractions on the conference map if you’d like some recommendations.
